The release begins the countdown to the next edition of one of Europe’s largest gatherings for flight simulation enthusiasts, developers, hardware manufacturers, virtual airlines, real-world aviators and aerospace organizations.
X-Plane and MOZA Confirmed for 2027
Two major flight simulation brands have already confirmed their participation.
Laminar Research, developer of X-Plane, and flight simulation hardware manufacturer MOZA will attend FlightSimWeekend 2027. Their early commitments give attendees a taste of what to expect, including hands-on access to new flight simulation software, controls and technology.
Additional exhibitors and event partners are expected to be announced as preparations continue.
A Bigger Home at Expo Houten
FlightSimWeekend 2027 will take place at Expo Houten, a modern exhibition facility offering more than 5,400 square meters of carpeted exhibition space.
The venue’s high ceilings and ground-level loading access will make it easier to accommodate large displays, full-scale home cockpits and motion platforms. Exhibitors will also have access to dedicated high-speed network infrastructure, on-site catering and professional booth services.
Expo Houten is located near Utrecht with direct access from the A27 highway. The venue offers more than 1,600 free parking spaces and can be reached by train through Utrecht Centraal and Houten Station. Dedicated FlightSimWeekend shuttle buses are planned to transport visitors between the station and venue.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is approximately 45 minutes away, making the new location accessible to international attendees.
Flight Sim Awards Return
The third annual Flight Sim Awards will be held during the Captain’s Dinner on Friday, April 2, at the Van der Valk Hotel Utrecht. The awards are being organized in partnership with Cruiselevel.de to recognize outstanding creators, developers and products across the flight simulation industry.
Options for Commercial and Community Exhibitors
The newly released brochure includes commercial exhibition packages offering up to 108 square meters of booth space.
Subsidized and free exhibition options will also be available for nonprofit community organizations, virtual airlines, educational institutions and do-it-yourself cockpit builders.
Exhibitors will be able to order equipment such as televisions, demonstration computers, furniture and flight simulation controls during registration. FlightSimWeekend is also working with Mainfreight to provide advance warehousing, customs and ATA Carnet assistance, direct-to-booth delivery and return freight services.
Hotel and Travel Discounts Available
FlightSimWeekend has published its first hotel discount codes and travel-planning information for visitors and exhibitors. Available options include preferred rates at partner hotels and information about flight discounts through KLM and Air France.
Additional travel and accommodation offers are expected to be added as the event approaches.
Exhibitor Registration Planned for Late August
The new exhibitor and sponsor registration portal is targeted to open during the second half of August 2026, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed.
Organizations interested in securing priority booth locations or high-visibility sponsorship opportunities may contact the FlightSimWeekend team before the public portal opens.
The organization recommends applying early because of strong demand and the priority given to early exhibitors and event sponsors.
Important Venue Reminder
FlightSimWeekend organizers emphasized that the official 2027 convention will be held exclusively at Expo Houten.
The organization is no longer affiliated with its former venue, the Aviodrome Aviation Museum in Lelystad, or its parent company, Libéma. Attendees, exhibitors and sponsors should verify that all event communications, registrations and travel arrangements originate from the official FlightSimWeekend website.
FlightSimWeekend 2027 takes place April 3–4, 2027, with the Captain’s Dinner and Flight Sim Awards scheduled for April 2.
