OrbitForge Brings Cleveland’s Burke Lakefront Airport to MSFS 2020 and 2024

OrbitForge has released its recreation of Burke Lakefront Airport (KBKL) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, giving virtual pilots a new rendition of Cleveland’s distinctive waterfront airport.

OrbitForge Brings Cleveland’s Burke Lakefront Airport to MSFS 2020 and 2024

Situated beside Lake Erie and close to downtown Cleveland, Burke offers an appealing destination for general aviation and business jet flights. OrbitForge’s scenery focuses on the airport environment, with custom buildings, detailed surfaces and lighting designed to bring more character to arrivals and departures.

The downtown location also provides a good excuse to take the scenic route—although your virtual passengers may eventually notice that their “direct flight” includes a sightseeing lap.

Custom Buildings and Detailed Airport Surfaces

According to the product listing, OrbitForge’s KBKL includes custom airport buildings and structures, 4K textures and physically based rendering materials.

The scenery also features apron and taxiway surfaces, ground markings, airport clutter and other objects intended to give the airfield a more complete appearance.

Realistic night lighting and detailed surroundings are included, extending the scenery’s appeal beyond daytime operations. OrbitForge advertises optimized models with multiple levels of detail to support simulator performance; actual results will depend on hardware, settings and other installed add-ons.

A Lakefront Destination With an Air Show Connection

Burke Lakefront’s setting gives it a different feel from a large airline hub. Lake Erie borders the airport, while Cleveland’s downtown skyline provides a recognizable backdrop for flights along the waterfront.

The airport is also home to the Cleveland National Air Show. OrbitForge highlights that connection in its product description, although the listing does not advertise an included air show simulation.

For virtual pilots, the attraction is the location itself: a convenient destination for regional hops, business aviation trips or a relaxed sightseeing flight along the shoreline.

Available for Both Simulator Versions

The scenery is listed for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. The product page identifies the release as version 1.0.0, with a download size of approximately 577 MB and an installed footprint of 1.63 GB.

Both simulator versions are supported according to the listing, though it does not specify whether the MSFS 2024 package uses a fully native implementation.

OrbitForge’s KBKL is available through the iniBuilds Store, where pilots can view the screenshots, current pricing and full feature list before purchasing.
