SayIntentions.AI Launches Living World Traffic for X-Plane

SayIntentions.AI has released its Living World AI traffic system for X-Plane 11 and 12, making the feature available today to all Premium subscribers on Windows.

SayIntentions.AI Launches Living World Traffic for X-Plane

The release brings scheduled airline flights, general aviation traffic and coordinated AI air traffic control into the same environment as the user’s flight. Each injected aircraft has its own AI pilot, allowing controllers to manage surrounding traffic alongside the human pilot.

Your local airport just got busier. That suspiciously convenient straight-in approach might now involve joining the queue.

Real Airline Schedules Populate the Virtual World

According to SayIntentions.AI, Living World airliners operate real-world seasonal routes and schedules, with parking assignments intended to place aircraft at appropriate gates.

The system also generates general aviation traffic flying realistic patterns at smaller airports, extending activity beyond major airline hubs.

For X-Plane pilots, the aim is an environment where nearby aircraft participate in the operation rather than simply occupy the scenery. An airliner departing ahead or a light aircraft working the circuit becomes part of the traffic picture that ATC must manage.

The feature was already available to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 users. Today’s release extends it to the wider X-Plane Premium subscriber community following a limited preview.

AI Traffic Can Follow ATC Instructions

The central distinction is how Living World generates and controls its aircraft.

Instead of replaying live ADS-B positions, SayIntentions.AI uses airline schedules as the foundation for traffic that its own AI pilots and controllers can direct.

The company says those aircraft can hold short, reduce speed, extend downwind and follow the user’s aircraft on final. That allows ATC to adjust the sequence as conditions change.

A replayed aircraft follows the movements captured in its source data. Living World’s approach is designed to give controllers aircraft that can respond to instructions—and make room for the pilot joining the flow.

For simmers, that could make the difference between hearing traffic mentioned on the radio and seeing an aircraft respond to the same controller handling their own flight.

Partner Preview Helped Refine the Release

X-Plane traffic injection opened to SayIntentions.AI Partners on October 8.

The developer says reports from that preview helped guide improvements before today’s broader release. Injected aircraft now appear on TCAS, produce sound and demonstrate smoother flying and landing behavior compared with the preview.

Those changes address several parts of the experience at once: seeing nearby traffic on cockpit displays, hearing aircraft around the airport and watching more convincing arrivals.

Sky Blue Radio previously covered the October 16 X-Plane traffic teaser. The latest announcement confirms what the teaser was leading toward and makes the system available to eligible subscribers.

More Than a Year of X-Plane Development

Founder and CEO Brian Shellabarger said the team spent more than a year bringing the technology to X-Plane.

He described the release as a response to a long-standing request from the platform’s pilots and said the company was proud to deliver it.

For users who already rely on SayIntentions.AI for ATC, the addition brings surrounding aircraft into that same control system. The practical appeal is a shared operational picture: the controller, the user and the AI traffic all participating in the same sequence.

How to Enable Living World in X-Plane

Living World AI traffic is included with a SayIntentions.AI Premium subscription for X-Plane 11 and 12 on Windows.

Subscribers can enable it through the Pilot Portal by opening Settings and selecting Traffic Injection.

New users can try Premium free for 24 hours without providing a credit card, according to the company’s announcement.

Further information is available on the official SayIntentions.AI traffic injection page.

For X-Plane pilots looking for more activity around their flights, Living World adds a new reason to listen closely to the frequency. When ATC says to follow the traffic ahead, there should now be someone worth following.
