The Sirius Heads for the Water
The original wheeled TL3000 Sirius arrived in Microsoft Flight Simulator in 2024. The newly released Floats edition retains the familiar aircraft while adding two large pontoons and the equipment needed for water operations.
Because the landing gear retracts into the floats, pilots are not limited to seaplane bases. The Sirius can depart from a paved airport, land on a remote lake and return to a conventional runway during the same flight.
That flexibility should make the aircraft particularly attractive to virtual pilots who enjoy bush flying, sightseeing and exploring regions where suitable airports may be few and far between.
A Modern Carbon-Composite Ultralight
Manufactured in the real world by TL-Ultralight, the TL3000 Sirius is a high-wing, carbon-composite aircraft with excellent cockpit visibility and a relatively spacious cabin for its class.
Although its general shape may remind some pilots of a Cessna, the Sirius is a modern ultralight design powered by a Rotax engine. Its high-wing configuration and large windows make it particularly well suited for low-altitude sightseeing and backcountry operations.
The simulated aircraft includes a large cargo area and modern navigation options. Pilots can use PMS50’s GTN 750 integration or a compatible TDS avionics configuration with the appropriate supporting software.
The Floats edition remains similar to FSReborn’s original wheeled version, with the most significant changes focused on water takeoffs, landings and amphibious operations.
Built for Exploration
Floatplanes open areas of Microsoft Flight Simulator that pilots might otherwise fly past. Lakes, sheltered coastal waters and remote wilderness locations can become destinations rather than simply scenery below the aircraft.
The TL3000 Sirius is not designed as a heavy utility aircraft, but its combination of visibility, modern avionics and amphibious capability should make it a useful platform for scenic flights and relaxed exploration.
Virtual pilots could use the aircraft to explore the mountain lakes of Colorado, the Canadian wilderness, Alaska, the Caribbean or countless other locations represented in Microsoft Flight Simulator’s digital world.
The retractable landing gear also eliminates the need to choose between a floatplane and a conventional aircraft before beginning a trip. Pilots can transition between land and water operations as the route requires—provided they remember to check the gear position before touching down.
Marketplace Availability
The FSReborn TL3000 Sirius Floats edition is launching first on PC through the official Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace for $24.99.
An Xbox release is expected next week, while a PlayStation 5 edition is planned for a later date.
Pilots who already own the original wheeled TL3000 Sirius can purchase a bundle that includes the amphibious model. FSReborn says existing owners will only pay the difference rather than purchasing both aircraft again at full price.
With its surprise release, the TL3000 Sirius Floats gives Microsoft Flight Simulator pilots another versatile aircraft for discovering places where runways are optional and a quiet lake can become the next destination.
